SA Power Networks Drone Challenge
In 2014 we launched the pilot Drone Challenge sponsored by SA Power Networks.
In 2015 the Challenge grew with 10 schools participating in the Challenge, which required students to design and build an unmanned craft and develop a detection and tracking system that could remotely identify faulty power cables and insulators in SA Power Networks power distribution network.
The Challenge Day was held at SA Power Networks. In addition to participating in the Challenge Day, students were required to submit an Interim and Final Technical Report and present at the C2C Expo.
The winning team in the 2015 Drone Challenge was Temple Christian College.
